As the tragic news from Friday’s events hang heavy on everyone’s hearts, it doesn’t feel quite right to carry on with everyday routines. It’s as though we need to be doing something more but we’re not quite sure what. It’s easy to let heartbreaking news break your spirit. But, as we muddle through trying to figure out the what, I think it’s important to focus on the things that make us happy and try to bring positivity into our own lives and the lives of those around us. I spent a lot of time this weekend digesting the horrific coverage from Sandy Hook, CT, but I also took some time to appreciate the little things around me that often go unnoticed. And then, this morning, I found a little peace in my routine - returning to our creative, open office, greeted by wonderful, hard working people. I am grateful to have such dynamic people in my life.

What can we do? As marketers and as natural-born communicators, how do we spread the word about mental health issues in a way that is constructive, useful and impactful? I feel a pro bono project brewing. Please stay tuned...and please hug your loved ones a little tighter than usual.
